“What Are You Expecting?” by Pastor Shelia Hart Artt

You’ve seen the prophecies and predictions and many are forecasting trouble,

but Jesus said, “In Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence.

In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration;

but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident]!

For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have

conquered it for you.]” (John 16:33 AMP)

~ It’s all in your perspective! ~

1) Anticipate God’s Goodness – “I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out. Plans

to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. When

you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen. When you come looking for

me, you’ll find me. Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than

anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed. God’s Decree. “I’ll turn things

around for you.” (Jer. 29:11-13 MSG)

God has a wonderful plan for your life. He doesn’t intend to leave this world – which He

came to redeem – in a state of despair and defeat. Rather, as Paul wrote in Romans 8:

“We are His children – heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in His

sufferings … we may also share in His Glory. Our present sufferings are not worth

comparing with the Glory that will be revealed in us.” (vs.17-18)

2) Align with God’s Purpose- Twelve spies went into the Promised Land; ten (10) came

back with a bad report, declaring their fear of the “enemy” and assurance of ultimate

defeat. There were only two (2) who encouraged them, “We should by all means go up

and take possession of this Land, for we will surely overcome it” (Num.13:30). The

children of Israel came into agreement with the majority, thus they aligned themselves

with a lie.

It is important that you align yourselves with those who have the “good report” from the

Lord. Don’t align with those who propagate fear! Rather, align yourselves with the

promises, people and purposes of God… (See Matt.24:6-14).

Take the land” for the Kingdom of God! This is not the time to abandon our calling and

purpose, but come into His alignment to see His Greater Works through us (Jn.14:12).

3) Accept God’s Assignment- “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come

to Me. Get away with Me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real

Rest. Walk with Me and work with Me-watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of

grace. I won’t lay anything heavy on you. Keep company with Me and you’ll learn to live

freely and lightly.” (Matt.11:28-30 MSG)

What is your “assignment”? Trust HIM – He’s got this!

Paul wrote to the Galatians who had been trying so hard to please God: “I have been

crucified with Christ. My ego is no longer central. It is no longer important that I appear

righteous before you or have your good opinion, and I am no longer driven to impress

God. Christ lives in me. The life you see me living is not mine, but it is lived by faith in

the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” (Gal.2:20-21)

He is releasing His Great Grace! We are no longer “trying” but “trusting!” No longer

impressing men or God, but allowing Him to live in fullness in me, and receiving the

fullness of His Love! This is the season of trusting and resting in Him!

Before He left, Jesus gave us a promise: “The Holy Spirit, whom the Father is sending,

will make everything plain to you. I am leaving you with a gift: peace of mind and heart.

And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” (John 14:27)

What a wonderful time to be alive! We have His promises and great potential to see the

greatest Outpouring and Glory ever seen in this Earth!

What are you expecting? Your answer is in your perspective!
