“Coming to America,” by Dr. James R. Wining

I read the article “Divorce Agreement,” by Mr. John J. Hall. His opinion
is certainly different from mine. As a Christian and as a believer in the
Acts Ministry vision of “Unity, in Christ, through The Holy Spirit,” I support
unity as a beginning means of Christian love, understanding and compassion
for one another. I hope others in these troubled times see it in a similar way.

For example, We need to help our children with autism, we need to help
our veterans with physical disorders caused by service, we need to help
those with chronic pain and we need to help those with neurological
disorders/diseases such as tourette’s, cancer and PTSD. Yes, cures,
programs and procedures may need to be changed but for us today
its a rebirth of our very roots.

We need to remember we are a society that breathes life into the homeless,
the poor and the weary. The words at the base on the Statue of Liberty
fairly states my understandings of the American society.:
“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless,
tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

I guess if supporting these causes past and present makes me a liberal then
I guess I am there. However, I prefer to consider the vision and myself as a
recognition of where we came from and what we must do to keep our society
progressing as a free and open heaven.

God Bless America,
